An Introduction to our Early Years Provision
At Guildford Grove Primary School we have provision for Nursery and Reception children from the age of two.
Our Foundation Stage unit includes Nursery and Reception provision. Nursery children (aged 3 to 4) are entitled to fifteen hours free provision. At Guildford Grove they can attend for either five mornings or five afternoons. Reception children attend all day. The unit is fully integrated and Nursery and Reception children play and learn together.
Play is at the forefront of all activities. The children will be learning through their play. Play is important for the children’s all-round physical, emotional, intellectual and social development.
In the unit we plan the curriculum from the Government’s guidelines for the Foundation Stage. The Foundation stage is divided into three prime areas of learning and four specific areas of learning.
