Children from Key Stage 1 have the opportunity to attend a weekly lunchtime 'Sign Club' run by Mrs Davis and Mrs Walsh. The children choose their own sign name and learn everyday British Sign Language signs to help them to communicate with their deaf peers. The club is fun and practical and we enjoy a range of games, role-play and hands-on signing activities!
In the autumn and spring term children from year 2 have the opportunity to attend a 'signing skills for everyday' course. In the summer term children from year 1 have their turn to attend for an 'introduction to signing'. It is always positive to see the progress the children make with their signing skills! We enjoy different practical games and activities and at the end of each term the children are excited to receive certificates to recognise their attendance and effort.
