The Role

We are looking to appoint a Part-Time Teaching Assistant to work in the Foundation Stage to specifically support children with additional learning needs.  Previous experience is desirable.  To start in September 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.  This is a fixed-term position due to expire on 31st August 2019.

Job Details

8.30am-3.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays (18.5 hours per week, 38.6 weeks per year)

Full - Time Equivalent Salary £16,334 - £17,866

Actual Salary £7082 - £7746

Salary Range S5: £ £19,245-£21,796 Full-Time Equivalent

ACTUAL SALARY: £14,659-£16,602


The Lighthouse works to support deaf children from age 3 to 11 in a mainstream school setting. Your work as a learning support assistant would be interesting, varied, sometimes challenging - but often rewarding. All of the children placed with us use Sign Supported English or British Sign Language, so we are looking for someone with good signing skills (qualified to CACDP/Signature Level 2 or equivalent), who is able to interpret mainstream class lessons for the deaf children. You would also need good levels of skill in written and spoken English. We welcome applications from candidates looking for full-time work, or part-time as a job share.
