Days OutIn May the children from the Lighthouse had the opportunity to take part in a range of sports themed activities through generous sponsorship from the Chloe's and Sophie's Special Ears Fund. Activities included ten pin bowling at Guildford Spectrum where we improved our aim and bowling techniques and were able to celebrate several 'strikes'! A morning of crazy golf at Stoke Park was great fun and also taught us to persevere to achieve success. Archery and team building activities at Henley Fort Outdoor Learning Centre were a highlight of the week. Archery was a new activity for many of the children and it was a wonderful opportunity for them to experience a new sport. The children successfully took a turn to pass on their newly acquired skills to the Lighthouse adults at the end of the morning. We also enjoyed a visit to Charterhouse Sports Centre for an active program of team games which included basket ball, football, hockey, obstacle courses and parachute games. The trips gave the children a wonderful opportunity to experience a wide range of sports as well as to build their confidence levels through encouraging each other and celebrating individual successes.
