Guildford Grove Primary School and Nursery

A culture of achievement where all can succeed

Partial school opening

 Thursday 24th January

23rdJanuary 2019

VERY IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ

Information regarding Thursday 24th January 2019

The school will be open for all pupils in Years 4 to 6 tomorrow who will head to Kings College with their teachers for their lessons.

The school will be closed to pupils in Nursery up to Year 3.

However, parents in Years 1 to 3 who have no childcare can bring their children in to Guildford Grove and we will run a school day for them in heated rooms. Unfortunately, we cannot offer this to children in Nursery and Reception as we have a limited number of rooms to use.

This change of plan has been implemented due to the electricity problems we have suffered in some areas of the school today due to an electrical surge because of our temporary heaters.

We have organised a number of rooms which we have used this afternoon that are heated through our air conditioning system.

We regret to inform you we cannot offer our Breakfast Club or after school clubs.

Children should be brought to their classroom door for registration at 8.40 am and they will then be taken to the heated rooms.

After registration at Guildford Grove, our Years 4 to 6 children will be heading to Kings College where they will be taught by their normal class teachers.  They will return to Guildford Grove for their lunch.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to offer hot lunches.  We are therefore asking parents to provide a packed lunch for their children unless they are entitled to free school meals in which case a cold, packed lunch can be provided for these children. If your child is entitled to free school meals, please go to the Aspen’s website to select their packed lunch.

Pupils should be collected from their normal classrooms at 3.15 pm.

Pupils should wear school uniform but we recommend adding a layer under their polo shirts and ensure that they have a coat, hat, scarf and gloves.

We thank you all for your support over what has been a very difficult and challenging week.
