Guildford Grove Primary School and Nursery

A culture of achievement where all can succeed

School open - Wednesday 23rd January 2019

We have been informed by the engineers on site that work will continue until Friday at the earliest and as a result, the gas supply is still disconnected. We have been reassured that the site is safe to open to pupils.

Therefore, Guildford Grove will be open for pupils in Reception - Year 6 on Wednesday 23rdJanuary.  We have been able to organise a number of rooms with temporary heating and hot water facilities for our pupils.

We regret to inform you that our Nursery provision will remain closed and we cannot offer our Breakfast Club or after school clubs.

ALL children should be brought to their classroom door for registration at 8.40 am and they will then be taken to the heated rooms. Daisies Reception children will need to arrive at the same door they are collected from in the Foundation Stage playground.

After registration at Guildford Grove, our Years 5 - 6 children will be heading to Kings College where they will be taught by their normal class teachers.  They will return to Guildford Grove for their lunch.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to offer hot lunches.  We are therefore asking parents to provide a packed lunch for their children unless they are entitled to free school meals in which case a cold, packed lunch can be provided for these children. If your child is entitled to free school meals, please go to the Aspen’s website to select their packed lunch.

Pupils should be collected from their normal classrooms at 3.15 pm.

Pupils should wear school uniform but we recommend adding a layer under their polo shirts and ensure that they have a coat, hat, scarf and gloves. This is due to the forecast for the cold weather tomorrow to ensure they remain warm when taken outside to play and when walking through colder areas of the school.

Please be reassured that we have planned thoroughly for the day to ensure all pupils remain safe and warm.

Thank you for your understanding.
