Wales Update - Day 5
Another gloriously sunny morning greeted us as we woke today and we breakfasted in great expectation for the coming day.
The coach took us on the 30 minute drive to Pontneddfechan (Dinas Rock) where we met the team from Adventure Wales.
We quickly kitted ourselves in wetsuits, helmets and buoyancy aids before heading to the gorge. The instructors lead us through the river and we faced some exciting challenges along the way!
The children clambered over rocks, crawled under waterfalls, swam across pools and leapt off ledges with incredible courage and enthusiasm. It was a joy to see the children supporting and encouraging each other at every turn and there was a strong sense of unity as we scaled the gorge.
By the time we sat down for lunch, everyone was tired but proud of themselves. We returned to the hostel for a much needed shower before dinner.
After dinner, we headed over to park and the children enjoyed some free time in the late afternoon sun.
Upon returning from the park, the children changed into their pyjamas before settling down to watch a film before bed.
We are looking forward to a visit to St Fagans on Friday before heading home!
