Post 1 – Learning Support Assistant (Deafness plus Physical Disability)
We are looking for a dedicated and resourceful Learning Support Assistant to join us in the Lighthouse Specialist Deaf Centre
The Lighthouse works to support deaf children from age 3 to 11 in a mainstream school setting. Your work as a learning support assistant would be interesting, varied, sometimes challenging – but often rewarding. All of the children placed with us use Sign Supported English or British Sign Language, so we are looking for someone with good signing skills (qualified to Signature Level 2 or an equivalent level of fluency), who is able to interpret mainstream class lessons for the deaf children. You would also need good levels of skill in written and spoken English. We welcome applications from candidates looking for full-time work, or part-time as a job share. To start as soon as possible, the position is fixed term in the first instance until July 2022.
Hours: Full-time hours are 32.5 hours per week [Monday-Friday 8.30 am-3.30 pm], but job-share considered. 38.6 weeks per year [Term-Time plus 3 INSET Days]
This is a fixed term post.
Salary Range GS 5.1-5.6: £21,943 – £24,184 FTE ACTUAL SALARY for 32.5 hours: £16,867 – £18,590
